The UK Takraw Association would like to introduce our newest member of the team, Chang Min Jung, and his place as Head Coach.
Known as Chang by all his friends and colleagues, he is a sporty individual from Korea. He has studied: Sports Industry, Tae Kwon-Do and Sepak Takraw (particularly the coaching of Takraw). He continues to learn and expand his knowledge and experience in these areas. Currently Chang is studying English in London, and will soon begin courses for advanced refereeing and coaching qualifications in Takraw. Chang is one of, if not the best Takraw player and coach residing in the UK. We are delighted to have Chang help the UK Association establish Takraw in this country and are extremely grateful he has extended his stay in order to help us achieve this mammoth task.
A really nice guy, furthering his knowledge of the English language whilst staying here, he discovered the newly formed UK Takraw Association and instantly took interest. He got in contact via Facebook and explained the connections and skills he has in Sepak Takraw. Chang and his family have strong roots in the Korean Takraw Community and Association. His father teaches professional Takraw athletes for his country - Leading the South Korean national women's team to victory.
Our newest challenge, putting Chang to the test, is starting the first Uni league for Takraw in the UK (To the best of our knowledge). The University of East London have been and continue to be instrumental in creating the first Takraw league in this country. UEL should be proud to part of this movement which aims to bring an exciting new sport to the UK. Some of these UEL students are also likely to become the first people to play Takraw for this country, or your own country if you are a student from outside the UK. Without Chang's assistance we would have struggled to get professional training organised for the university and many would have missed out on this exciting new sport.
On behalf of the whole UK Association we would like to thank Chang for all he has done and hope to work together for many years to come.
