On July 2nd and July 3rd we will once again be at the Danson Festival. An annual affair in Bexley held by Bexley Council and REM. As always there will be much to see and do. Although, this year, there will be something you haven't seen before. A professional Sepak Takraw demonstration! That's right, 12 Malaysian Sepak Takraw experts flown in just for you Bexley!
The MAS team is being provided by Malaysia Airlines. A great team well known to wider Takraw community. They travel the world putting on demonstrations and also attending international tournaments. As you can see from our event listings, it wasn't long ago they helped promote the Belgium scene. A country much in the same boat as the UK.
For those of you who don't know - Thailand and Malaysia have produced some of the best players in the game. When it comes to Takraw they are fierce rivals and it is not uncommon to see they battle it out in the finals.
It is a great honour to have them here in London and especially exciting as it's a first! To the best of our knowledge, never before has such an exhibition been put on in the UK.
Bexley Festival's Sports Zone coordinator Richard Kay has gone the extra mile to make sure the residents of Bexley get the maximum benefit from this event. Helping us promote our event and work alongside Bexley's School Sport Partnerships to include them in our 2011 Coaching Programme.

Before playing as tekong (server), I was a killer (striker) since my high school time (14 yrs old), then after my eating habit is out of control, I no longer seem to be scared as a striker(killer) so I decide to changed to tekong position.

Start playing since 14 years old during high school time. Being selected to represent is my starting point to be serious in Sepak Takraw. Then I continued my study to diploma and bachelor degree level which just for the info to represent my country (Malaysia) for the international games.
